What is a 3d printed gas pedal (toe ramp) like and should you buy it?

If you are looking for a new gas pedal for your beloved Burton binding, chances are that you won't find it and if you do (check ebay Japan) they will be very expensive. This is sad because these are absolutely great bindings and a waste of material, resources and simple fun.

That's why we are offering 3d printed gas pedals. 3d printing makes it possible for us to offer you a quick solution for your binding. But also to be more eco friendly! And we are doing that by offering two types. The Rigid and the Performance.

The Rigid

Rigid gas pedal

This gas pedal has been reversed engineerd in order to be 3d printed. It does the job and it does it well. That's it! The design is different than the original in many aspects. It is only flexible at the click mechanism, but the rest of the body is rigid. This model is made from 100% filled PETG in order to ensure that no water sneaks in and freezes from the inside out. It has an extra coating that must ensure the longevity of the part and we add a foam sheet on top that you can personalize!

Choose this part if you are a powder fanatic that just wants to freeride and then go for a beer or something.

Performance

This gas pedal is the last iteration of a year long research and development process. Out of the two they look and behave the most like the original gas pedals. They are flexible, and can absorb shocks with ease. They are also coated for extra protection against becoming brittle due to the cold temperatures and ice forming. This coating behaves like a thick skin around the part that also ensures its longevity while staying flexible.

Choose this part if you are a freestyler/ urban snowboarder or if you can snowboard all day long for weeks on end.

So why would you choose for these parts?

We are working tirelessly to create a way for you to keep your bindings. That’s our only goal. Right now, they are both in development and we are using the feedback from our customers to keep making them better and better. But there are a couple of things that you need to understand though. They are still 3d printed parts. The two types have their pro’s and con’s and they will deliver, but in the end they are 3d printed parts. We still need more data to know for sure what they are capable off.

For now we have come a long way from where we started, testing different materials, different 3d printing methods and settings and different post processing methods to get the most reliable and durable parts.

The gas pedals we have right now are for the following bindings.

  • Lexa
  • Stilleto
  • Escapade
  • P1 carbon
  • Mission M, L and LW
  • Cartel L
  • Custom L

If you can't find your binding on the list contact us. We will try our best to find it and reverse engineer it for you.
